China's Deng Xiaoping Museum Makes History with QSC
QSC's Digital Cinema Products find their way into a digital auditorium
The city of Guang'an, in China's Sichuan Province, is close to the
hearts of the Chinese people as the birthplace and home of one of the
country's most beloved leaders, the late Deng Xiaopeng. The recent
opening of the memorial museum bearing his name was accompanied by the
unveiling of its auditorium, containing the country's first 4k digital
cinema presentation system.
The auditorium's audio
and video system, designed and implemented by China Research and
Institute of Film Science and Technology (CRIFST), utilizes three
digital projectors and edge-blending technology to create a 3840 x 1024
wide screen picture. The audio system is designed around QSC's DCM-3 Digital Cinema Monitors, providing integrated signal processing and monitoring functions, as well as five of the company's DCA 2422 and seven DCA 3422 Digital Cinema Amplifiers.
Connected via QSC';s exclusive DataPort interface, the Digital Cinema
Monitors provide signal processing and monitor functions in a single
integrated system, optimizing loudspeaker performance while simplifying
system configuration and providing advanced monitoring functions.
Since the auditorium's opening, hundreds of thousands of visitors have
viewed the auditorium's moving documentary presentation of Deng
Xiaoping's life, as well as touring the museum's exhibits commemorating
their leader. The auditorium has been running some twenty screenings
per day to accommodate the demand, with some four million visitors per
year projected.
