Quantum Digital Films and Broadcasts A Live Panel Discussion Via Intelsat 10-02 to Cinemas Nationwide from BAFTA, London for the Film Countdown to Zero
Quantum Digital, the leading provider of live production and satellite services to cinema exhibitors and film distributors, filmed and broadcast a special Q&A panel discussion at BAFTA in London on 21 June for leading documentary distributor Dogwoof. The panel included luminaries such as Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, former Labour Party Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett and Oscar Winning producer Lawrence Bender.
Quantum also coordinated a special live web stream that allowed venues without satellite dishes to receive and screen the Q&A, using special encoding which cleverly adapts to the local broadband speed of each individual venue, ensuring optimal performance.
Quantum also provided an innovative facility which allowed the panel to receive live questions via SMS and Twitter. In addition, all cinemas were supported by Quantum's event monitoring and telephone hotline. The event was a big success which helped raise awareness for the topic of the film, the dangers of nuclear proliferation.
Dogwoof’s Oli Harbottle commented: "Quantum once again organised and delivered a faultless cinema event, which marked our fourth time working with Marc John and his enthusiastic, knowledgeable team."
Quantum's Marc John said: "Distributors and exhibitors need experienced partners for the organising and delivery of such high profile and technically complex events, and we are pleased that Dogwoof continue to use us for their filming, satellite, web and social media requirements."
