Harkness Screens, the world’s leading
manufacturer of projection screens for cinema and events applications, sponsored
Filmkunstmesse, a leading German film festival and trade fair in Leipzig to
provide a Perlux®
Digital 180 Screen.
Organized
by AG Kino, the German Arthouse Cinema Guild, the trade fair and festival which
ran from September 19-23, offered industry figures and the general public an
advanced viewing of upcoming international arthouse and independent films.
The 9.5m x
5.5m Perlux gain screen installed at the Passage Kino in Leipzig was used to
display both digital 2D and Volfoni Active 3D presentations.
“We were
fortunate to be given the opportunity to work with Cine Project who requested
and installed the screen and subsequently managed the digital projection for
the festival. The event gave the
opportunity for a number of fantastic films to be showcased before their
release and we were delighted to be associated with the festival.” explained
Tony Dilley, International Sales Manager at Harkness Screens.
Considered
by leading cinema exhibitors worldwide to be the premier gain projection
surface, Perlux® Digital is Ideal for larger screens with active and
passive 3D technologies (not using polarised light), such as Dolby 3D, and for
large 2D screens, Perlux® Digital requires minimal colour correction during
projector setup, thus reducing the complexity of converting to digital.
Harkness’
Perlux® brand gain screens (Perlux® 140, Perlux® 180 and Perlux® 220) are
suitable for both 2D and 3D screen projection for any size theatre.
