CineCert, a Burbank-based technology firm, will be showcasing at NAB two new products, Lihue and Koloa, aimed at Digital Cinema mastering facilities, Digital Cinema network operators and motion picture theaters globally. CineCert is exhibiting for the first time at NAB, at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s South Lower Hall (Booth # SL 14618). John Hurst, co-founder and CTO of CineCert, will also be speaking on April 6 2014 at the NAB Technology Summit in Cinema, an event co-produced with SMPTE.
Lihue, a DCP Volume management system, and Koloa, a D-Cinema Key Management solution, are the latest additions to CineCert’s flagship products, which include mature, enterprise class Waimea D-Cinema Key Management and Wailua D-Cinema Mastering Systems. Top-tier distribution and post-production providers rely on CineCert’s solutions. “With the release of Lihue and Koloa”, explains John Hurst, “we are responding to the global demand for new stand-alone digital cinema management solutions, easy to use, flexible and scalable.”
Lihue DCP Volume Management System, unveiled at the Hollywood Post Alliance Technology Retreat 2014, is a reliable and robust Digital Cinema Package (DCP) duplication and testing solution, allowing users to create an industry standard distribution volume from an unformatted hard disk. With its intuitive browser-based user interface, optimized for tablets and easy to configure for remote monitoring, users can inspect, copy, modify and analyze DCP volumes in full compliance with industry standards. Lihue can also repair DCP errors such as broken or missing asset maps or packing lists. The basic configuration includes Lihue client software preloaded on an appliance with two CRU-115 drive bays and multiple high speed USB ports in a low-profile desktop case. The Lihue architecture can scale to hundreds of disks, providing a turn-key solution for virtually any workload.
Koloa D-Cinema Key Management Solution offers an easy to use browser-based interface, optimized for mobile devices, for managing screen locations, bookings and KDM creation for Digital Cinema. It is the perfect solution for small and medium Digital Cinema distribution facilities and distributors looking to manage location information, booking and screening schedules, Digital Cinema certificates and Key Delivery Messages (KDMs). Once a booking is prepared, KDMs can be generated with a single click. In addition, Koloa is a validating KDM generator able to validate device certificates using the root certificates previously installed by the users. Koloa was introduced to the market late 2013 and has been adopted by several international digital cinema distribution providers for their management of keys and bookings.
