Christie Showcases Advanced Visual and Audio Solutions for Media and Entertainment Industry at NAB Show Shanghai

Christie®, a leader in creating and sharing the world's best visual and audio experiences, is showcasing leading visual and audio solutions for the media and entertainment industry at the NAB Show Shanghai, taking place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, December 7-9.

The event, jointly organized by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), NAB Show and the National Base for International Trade-International High Tech Cultural Device Cluster (TCDIC), is designed for media professionals involved in the creation, management and distribution of content across broadcast and digital mediums. It aims to serve as an integrated platform for innovation and allows attendees to share global perspectives while learning tactical and successful business strategies.

Christie is presenting a wide range of advanced visual and audio solutions in its multi-zone display at booth #N1-B01, which are targeted at broadcast and entertainment venues to offer a spectacular and immersive experience. Divided into eight zones, the booth is set to attract visitors with eye-catching demonstrations and solutions that are perfect for broadcasters and professionals in the digital entertainment media realm.

Zone 1 – Static Display of Christie Mirage 4KLH
One of the main highlights of the booth is a static display of the Christie Mirage 4KLH, the most advanced RGB laser projection system in the world that is capable of screening Ang Lee’s new film “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” in 28fL, 120 fps, 4K and 3D, complete with laser rack and modules. Equipped with Christie TruLife™ electronics, the system delivers superior 3DLP® performance and durability for the most stunning visuals.

Zone 2 – Digital Art Gallery
Several acclaimed art pieces and objects will be brought to life by two Christie HS Series 1DLP® laser phosphor projectors, with content created by Christie 360 and driven by the Christie Pandoras Box media server. The Christie HS Series offers the world’s brightest 1DLP® laser phosphor projector, boasting up to 13,500 lumens in WUXGA and HD resolutions with Christie BoldColor Technology. The Pandoras Box, on the other hand, features the most powerful render-engine offering real-time compositing in 3D, allowing for projection onto any shape and any surface.

Zone 3 – Broadcast Solutions
Christie’s knowledge and expertise in providing reliable and high-quality visuals to broadcast environments is showcased in this zone, with an eye-catching display of the award-winning Christie® MicroTiles® arranged in a 5-by-4 configuration and driven by the Christie Spyder X20 video processor capable of driving multiple displays, achieving higher brightness, enhanced image quality and improved resolution.

Zone 4 – Home Theater Solutions
Christie has over 85 years of experience in cinema and is the undisputed leader in cinema technology. In this zone, visitors can experience how Christie’s state-of-the-art technologies can be deployed in a home theater environment that delivers the ultimate visual and audio experience. These include the Christie DWU850-GS laser phosphor projector offering bright and vibrant visuals, and Christie Vive Audio™ cinema audio solution comprising LA1 loudspeakers, S115 subwoofers and CDA Series Class D amplifiers for the most immersive cinema audio.

Zone 5 – Dome Projection Demonstration
Christie’s expertise in projection mapping on uneven surfaces is demonstrated in this zone with the deployment of a Christie HD14K-M 3DLP® projector and controlled by the Christie Pandoras Box to display vibrant images on a dome-shaped object. Equipped with 13,500 lumens and embedded warping, blending and color matching capabilities, the HD14K-M has been deployed countless times all around the world for a variety of event and rental staging applications.

Zone 6 – House Mapping Demonstration
A miniature house model is brought to life by the Christie DWU850-GS 1DLP laser phosphor projector, with content driven by the Christie Pandoras Box. With a brightness of 7,500 lumens and BoldColor Technology, the GS Series offers the highest quality images, life-like color reproduction and reliability, whilst taking color accuracy and image quality to the next level.

Zone 7 – Christie Captiva with Interactivity Kit
Be prepared for a highly interactive visual experience in this zone, which features an impressive ultra short throw projection using Christie Captiva Series 1DLP® laser phosphor projectors that empower content by creating canvases up to 140-inches diagonal in landscape or portrait mode, easily add interactivity capabilities and run multiple applications simultaneously. The projectors are equipped with the Christie Interactivity Kit, offering the creative flexibility to incorporate multipoint touch interactivity into the large-format digital display.

Zone 8 – Christie Projection Solutions Demonstration
This zone features demonstrations of a range of Christie visual solutions that are ideal for different applications, offering high brightness, easy to use and low cost of ownership. Among the projectors to be demonstrated includes the new Christie AP Series 3LCD projector that boasts a brightness of 5000 lumens, long lamp life (up to 6,000 hours), integrated audio, a comprehensive list of I/O connections, including HDBaseT for easy integration in a variety of environments and content sources.

Besides the dazzling visuals at the booth, Christie will deliver a presentation titled Future Application of Virtual Reality Technology, which will take place at the Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai on December 7. Delivered by Ken Wheatley, Senior Director of Sales, Christie Asia Pacific, the presentation will focus on how the development of virtual reality technologies has opened doors to new possibilities for experiential environments. From themed attractions to museums and large-scale shows, virtual reality has redefined the sense of immersion and envelopment for the guest and spectator by creating powerful, shared visual experiences.
