NEC’s STARUS NC2500S Projectors Deliver Remarkable Digital Images at the First Ever Multi-screen Digital Cinema Premier
NEC Solutions (America), Inc. today announced its NEC STARUS™ NC2500S DLP Cinema® projector will be showcased at Disney/Pixar’s world premiere of the new computer-animated feature “CARS.” Three of NEC’s STARUS NC2500S, the world’s brightest projector with DLP Cinema® technology from Texas Instruments, will be projecting “CARS” on a giant custom-built outdoor movie screen at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina this Friday.
“NEC is proud to be working with Disney on our second digital cinema project this year,” said Kurt Schwenk, general manager, Digital Cinema Division of NEC Solutions America. “Our STARUS projectors are a proven display solution for indoor theatres, and we are excited to demonstrate that they’ll meet the same standard for outdoor theatre venues. As the brightest projectors being showcased at the ‘CARS’ premier, our screen is guaranteed to be the most visually stimulating one on display.”
The premiere of “CARS” at the Lowe's Motor Speedway represents the first multi-screen digital cinema premiere ever and is the largest digital cinema display to date. A series of four giant custom-built outdoor movie screens 115-feet wide and 50-feet tall have been constructed for the event. Texas Instruments and its DLP Cinema technology is Disney's event technology partner with their OEM partners providing the digital cinema projectors. Each screen will have three DLP Cinema 2K digital projectors dedicated to it. One of the four screens will be showcasing three synced NEC STARUS NC2500S projectors overlapping the remarkable digital images for superior viewing quality.
“Texas Instruments has been a longtime partner with NEC and we are honored to have them be a part of this event,” said Nancy Fares, Business Manager, DLP Cinema Products. “We have seen how the STARUS NC2500S projector performs and we expect it to deliver an incredible visual experience for the audience.”
NEC’s STARUS NC2500S is the world’s brightest DLP Cinema projector for large-sized screens 49 feet wide or larger. Delivering 2K resolution and high contrast ratios (2000:1), the STARUS NC2500S digital cinema projector is easy to operate and requires minimal maintenance. It can easily achieve the industry required standard of 14 foot lamberts on the largest cinema screens, casting a remarkable digital image and delivering amplified brightness, sharper graphics and eye-catching color.
The complete family of STARUS Digital Cinema projectors also includes the STARUS NC1500C for medium-sized movie screens, and the STARUS NC800C for smaller theatres, screening rooms, and post-production facilities.
On May 26th the premiere of “CARS” will be exhibited through a STARUS NC2500S projector for the first ever multi-screen digital cinema premiere. Proceeds from the event will benefit Speedway Children's Charities, and Association of Hole in the Wall Gang Camps.
“CARS” opens in theaters on June 9th.
