Christie CP2000 DLP Cinema™ Projector Gives Competitive Edge to Deluxe Sound & Picture of Canada
First 2K Projector Installed in a Post-Production Facility Worldwide, Christie CP2000 Helps Set HD Standard for Industry
hristie Digital Systems, Inc., a leading provider of visual solutions for
business, entertainment and industry, continues to drive digital
implementation in the post-production market worldwide with the installation
of the Christie CP2000 2K DLP Cinema™ projector at Deluxe Sound and Picture
of Canada, establishing 2K-resolution as the new industry standard. The
facility is the Toronto-based postproduction unit of Deluxe, one of the
world’s largest providers of media services to the entertainment industry.
Deluxe Sound & Picture features superior audiovisual facilities and an
award-winning staff, capable of accommodating post-production of feature
films as well as episodic television. It is the first all-High Definition
(HD) studio in Toronto for scanning to a 2K-resolution projector. The
studio captures, edits and prints in HD and then screens the dailies – all
in HD. It utilizes the Christie CP2000 for transferring video and data
images, using one of the highest resolution scanners on the market today to
scan 2K frames to a hard drive (DDR). These images can then be laid down to
HD Cam, D5 or other popular industry formats.
Recognizing the need to meet the increasingly sophisticated demands of its
customers, Deluxe selected the Christie CP2000 for its unrivaled image
quality and industry-leading 2K-resolution based on DLP Cinema™ technology.
The Christie CP2000 is designed to address any screen size from 20ft to 75ft
(6m to 23m). Deluxe uses an 18’ wide screen ideal for digital mastering,
digital intermediates and post-production. Its modular design makes it
easily upgradeable.
“As part of our recently completed multimillion dollar expansion and
renovation program, we needed the latest, state-of-the-art, 2K-resolution
digital projector that could meet our current needs as well as provide ample
room for growth. The high performance Christie CP2000 delivers a level of
quality, versatility and power that made it the only logical choice,” said
Tony Meerakker, president, Picture Post Production, Deluxe Sound and
Picture, Canada. “The Christie CP2000 is providing us with the ability to
accurately represent what a video recorded image should be. We can
demonstrate exactly what the client will get at any stage of the post
production process.”
“Deluxe is a premier digital post house and the first such facility in
the world to place an order for the Christie CP2000,” noted Dave Muscat,
business development manager, Christie Canada. “We are pleased that the
Christie CP2000 DLP Cinema™ projector is helping this innovative facility
gain its competitive technological edge.”
