Volfoni is excited to announce the arrival of Stephen Palmer as Chief Scientist Officer for the company. Well-known as an expert in the field of liquid crystal technology, Palmer will oversee Volfoni's development of passive 3D systems. He joins Volfoni's R&D team, who are creating the most cutting edge products on the 3D market.
Volfoni's first foray into passive systems, SmartCrystal Pro, was presented at InfoComm and ISTE 2011 to great success. SmartCrystal Pro is a polarization modulator for single-lens 3Dready projectors. Volfoni's R&D is already at work on developing larger modulators for largescale venues.
“We are delighted to have Stephen join our team as we continue to develop the latest in 3D innovations. Stephen is an expert and a valuable addition to Volfoni. The company is one of the few in the world who provide both active and passive 3D solutions,” says Thierry Henkinet, President of Volfoni.
“I'm happy for this opportunity to join Volfoni's amazing research and development team. As more and more people are attracted to the possibilities of 3D, Volfoni's R&D stays ahead of the game by developing and producing 3D advancements at a rapid pace,” says Stephen Palmer.
Palmer earned his Master of Science in Physics at Durham University in England, and his Ph.D in Applied Physics at Uppsala University in Sweden. He has previously served as R&D Manager, Research Engineer, and CEO of several technology companies in Sweden.
