AccessIT To Announce Access Digital Media Subsidiary At ShowEast 2003
Focused on the management and distribution of digital content - Industry veteran Russell Wintner will serve as president and chief operating officer
Access
Integrated Technologies, Inc. (AccessIT), a provider of
carrier-neutral managed infrastructure and disaster recovery services, today
announced that it will formally introduce its subsidiary Access Digital Media,
Inc. (AccessDM) at the ShowEast 2003 Motion Picture Convention
held in Orlando, Florida, on September 29th.
AccessDM will leverage AccessIT’s bandwidth diverse
data centers to offer content owners a secure and reliable method for
interactively tracking and monitoring the delivery of sensitive digital media
files to their remote customers. AccessDM was created to service
the needs of content owners who increasingly face the challenge of managing
content distribution in the digital age. This service is particularly important
for the entertainment industry, where the delivery of digital content, including
movies and music, is becoming a reality. Through its proprietary Managed Digital
Media Architecture (MDMA), AccessDM is designed to function as a
dependable and secure courier service beginning with the receipt of a finished
Digital Distribution Master through to the confirmed delivery and storage of the
“package” on a customer’s server.
Russell Wintner, a 25-year veteran entrepreneur and entertainment business
executive, will serve as AccessDM’s President and Chief Operating
Officer. He was formerly with WinterTek, Inc., an entertainment industry
management consulting firm he founded serving such customers as Technicolor,
Raytheon and WorldStage. For two decades, Mr. Wintner held senior positions at
National Theater Corp, including Executive Vice President, Chief Operating
Officer and Chief Financial Officer prior to the company’s sale to Regal
Cinemas. In 1996, he co-founded CineComm Digital Cinema, which focused on
digital cinema delivery of motion pictures to movie theaters around the world
via satellite with strategic partners QUALCOMM and JVC.
Wintner commented, “There are many ways to deliver digital content, but
AccessDM offers an efficient way to manage the process while
maximizing control and minimizing cost. AccessDM offers not only a
fluid choice between technologies, but also a choice of vendors within each
technology, going beyond simple content delivery to provide integration with
content owners. For example, through an agreement between AccessIT
and Hollywood Software, a Los Angeles-based provider of movie scheduling and
booking software, movie studios can release digital movies directly from their
own storage library to their customers globally, with no additional effort. With
AccessDM, content owners can finally leverage their content
investments in the digital paradigm.”
Bud Mayo, Chairman and CEO of AccessIT, and CEO of AccessDM,
added, “We are excited by the potential of AccessDM. Supported by
AccessIT’s facilities and managed storage expertise, AccessDM
clients, utilizing the company’s MDMA platform, will be able to specify
precisely how they want their material handled and how they wish to be notified
in the event of a change in status. Additionally, by providing real time access
to its system, AccessDM clients can follow the progress of their
shipments every step of the way, enjoying maximum control over their content.”
