Germany’s Largest Film Palace: Kinoton Equips Lichtburg in Essen —Nov 29, 2013
Right after the Lichtburg cinema in Essen celebrated its 85th birthday this October, Kinoton equipped both of its auditoriums with state-of-the-art D-Cinema solutions (DCS). The Traumpalast cinema in Backnang in the German state of Baden-Württemberg recently opened after nearly eight months of work to remodel the building, and to celebrate is showing the new James Bond film Skyfall. Kinoton Fills Giant Open-Air Screen at Asia's Largest Film Festival —Nov 11, 2011
This year’s BIFF International Film Festival took place at an ultramodern new venue in Busan, South Korea's second-largest city after Seoul. The prestigious 150-million-dollar Busan Cinema Center has total floor space of 54,000 square meters on nine stories. It houses a multipurpose screening hall with close to 840 seats, a 400-seat theatre, and two auditoriums with 200 seats each. It also boasts a spectacular open-air theatre with seating for 4000 beneath a huge outdoor roof with colorful LED lighting. All of the cinemas feature high-quality Kinoton film technology.

The entire line of DCP Series II projectors manufactured by Kinoton has completed the strict testing procedure for certification as compliant with the safety and technology standards of Digital Cinema Initiatives, LLC (also known as DCI), a joint venture launched by several major motion picture studios. Cinema City International Goes Digital and 3D —Aug 6, 2008

Kinoton supplies D-Cinema Technology for German Film Academy in Potsdam —Feb 16, 2007
The German cinema technology manufacturer Kinoton has installed a complete DCI compliant D-Cinema system at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen “Konrad Wolf” (Academy for Film and Television) in Potsdam-Babelsberg. The Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen, HFF in short, mainly uses the new 2K projection system for screening and quality inspection in the digital post production process.  Full Release
XDC and Kinoton start a new cooperation in order to enhance the XDC roll out plans in Europe —Nov 16, 2006
XDC and the German projector manufacturer Kinoton have launched a new cooperation for the integration and the delivery of 2K digital cinema installations with Kinoton projectors. “The focus will mainly be on the German speaking territories - Germany, Austria and Switzerland – but, since Kinoton is active in many European countries, XDC will of course consider any market opportunity.” said Bernard Collard, XDC General Manager. XDC has ordered a first batch of 21 Kinoton projectors that are already being installed to Kinoton customers and integrated into the open XDC Network.  Full Release

3D Presentation at the Annual Zoo Directors’ Convention in Berlin —Jun 7, 2005
3D cinema is an thrilling experience not only for cinema audiences, but for visitors to theme and adventure parks, museums and zoos as well. The attendees of the Annual Zoo Directors’ Convention in Berlin (Germany) recently saw for themselves the impeccable quality of modern digital 3D projection. On May 26, zoo directors from all over Central Europe held a meeting at the Berlin zoos to exchange experiences. Digital Star Wars: Episode III Premiere Was Entrusted to Kinoton —May 25, 2005
The grand German premiere of Star Wars Episode III at the Musical Theater in Berlin/Germany was really a unique event. Not only because the audience brimmed over with enthusiasm for the perfectly arranged event, but it also was the first movie premiere in Germany to be projected digitally. New Digital 3D Attraction in Istanbul —Dec 21, 2004
The Cinebonus multiplex with its 7 auditoriums is situated in the G-Mall shopping center in Istanbul. Auditorium No 7 has been featuring a new exciting attraction for a short time: Up to 92 viewers can experience exciting three-dimensional adventures provided by a HD StereoVision Player made by Kinoton. This HD StereoVision Player is a special option of Kinoton’s DIPIT digital projection system with synchronized two-channel output, feeding two video projectors to bring pin-sharp stereoscopic images in real high definition to the almost 10 metre wide 3D silver screen.  Full Release
