Baird's Honeycomb Display (UK)

In July of 1930, Barid held is first of many demonstrations in a cinema using a display crafted of 2,100 tiny filament lamps mounted behind ground glass and held in place with large honeycomb housing. The lamps were sequentially switched on and off by a large communtator rotating at 750 rpm and synchronized with the source. The filament lamps provide some persistence of the image.
