The 4K resolution Christie projection system will debut on Friday, with the festival’s Opening Night world premiere of “Captain Phillips,” a film starring Tom Hanks and based on the true story of the 2009 seizure by four Somali pirates of the Maersk Alabama cargo ship.

and synchronized to display 3D movies with double the brightness levels of typical 3D presentations, while a single Christie CP4230 will be used to show 2D content in rich 4K resolution, attesting to the high brightness levels of Christie projectors.
