dcinex™ and Odeon UCI Cinemas Agree on Landmark VPF Deal for Cinesa in Spain
At IBC in Amsterdam, dcinex™, the leading digital cinema service company in Europe is pleased to announce the conclusion of a long-term VPF agreement with UK-based Odeon UCI Cinemas Group covering the deployment of 520 digital screens in Spain under their VPF financing scheme and boosting dcinex’s VPF deployments to a new record high.
Under the terms of this agreement, Cinesa, the Spanish branch of Odeon UCI group and largest cinema circuit in the country, 44 cinema sites are now equipped with state-of-the-art digital projection systems including NEC 2K and 4K projectors, Doremi servers and Unique TMS. Furthermore, Cinesa will equip its cinemas with a satellite delivery solution which will allow distributors to deliver films directly to the cinemas, and which provides the opportunity to receive live 2D or 3D transmissions.

To-date the installation of the systems is already completed and have gradually been connected to dcinex’s NOC. The support services will be managed out of Liège in close cooperation with Cinesa’s local partner Suministros Kelonik.
