ICTA, Inter-Society, and The Cinema Foundation Celebrate the Inaugural Cinema Systems Summit

A Resounding Success in Exploring the Technologies Powering the Modern Moviegoing Experience
The Inter-Society, the International Cinema Technology Association (ICTA), and The Cinema Foundation proudly welcome a capacity crowd to the fully booked inaugural Cinema Systems Summit, a groundbreaking event dedicated to the interconnected technologies that drive the modern moviegoing experience.

As part of their shared mission to educate and support the cinema industry, these three organizations have generously produced this full-day, no-cost training session, ensuring that professionals across the industry have access to critical knowledge and expertise. By offering this summit free of charge, they reaffirm their commitment to fostering education, innovation, and collaboration within the cinema community.

With registration reaching full capacity well in advance, this highly anticipated summit has brought together top industry professionals eager to explore the critical systems that power today’s cinemas. From the moment a film is scheduled for release to the moment a satisfied customer leaves the theater, countless technologies work in harmony to deliver the perfect picture, immersive sound, and seamless service. These essential innovations manage everything from the secure transfer of massive files from studios to screens via satellite, to ticketing and customer engagement, to in-theater comfort and experience optimization. The Cinema Systems Summit provides an unparalleled opportunity for learning, networking, and collaboration to ensure the continued success and advancement of the industry.

“This summit shines a light on the often-overlooked systems that keep the industry running smoothly,” said Jerry Pierce, Chaorman of ISDCF. “By fostering dialogue and sharing knowledge, we empower industry professionals to enhance operations, improve efficiency, and elevate the moviegoing experience.”

Frank Tees, immediate past president of ICTA, added: “Technology is a major part of our lives. We’ve embraced it into our culture, especially into cinema. The ICTA membership is committed to bringing new and exciting technology options to cinemas. The inaugural Cinema Systems Summit embraces all aspects of technology in cinema, and we are delighted to partner with the Inter-Society for the Enhancement of Cinema Presentation to bring technology awareness to the attendees of CinemaCon 2025. Special thanks to The Cinema Foundation for their support in this educational effort.”The summit is honored to welcome Geoff Burdick, President of Lightstorm LLC, as a featured guest speaker. With over 30 years of experience working alongside legendary filmmaker James Cameron, Geoff has played a pivotal role in advancing cinematic technology on groundbreaking films such as TitanicAvatarAvatar: The Way of Water, and its upcoming sequels. His expertise spans acquisition, post-production, and exhibition solutions, pushing the boundaries of camera systems, digital workflows, 3D, high frame rates, dynamic range, and immersive formats. Geoff’s insights into the future of cinema technology will be a highlight of the summit, offering attendees a unique perspective on innovation in the industry.

This full day training brings together industry leaders in technology alongside exhibitors who utilize these cutting-edge cinema technologies. Attendees will gain hands-on experience and valuable insights from experts in the field. The interactive summit features expert-led discussions on key industry topics, including theatre management systems, technician support (on-staff vs. outsourced), network security, and more topics to be announced soon.

The overwhelming response to the Cinema Systems Summit underscores the industry's commitment to staying ahead of the latest technological advancements and best practices in cinema operations.
