Christie® is set to have a major presence at CineEurope 2016 (Barcelona, June 20-23), exhibiting a selection of its cinema solutions. This is the first time the Christie stand at CineEurope (Suite D) will emulate a small cinema theatre where attendees can see and hear demos of the new Christie CP2208-LP laser phosphor cinema projector and speakers from its Christie Vive Audio™ LS Series respectively – being premiered in EMEA – plus LCD panels and Christie® MicroTiles® for digital signage in cinema lobbies.
In addition,
the CineEurope auditorium will be powered by the industry-leading HFR
3DLP® 4K RGB
Christie Solaria CP42LH laser projector equipped with 12 laser
modules to provide 60,000 lumens. The system, conceived to deliver 14 foot lamberts on 3D
screens, will use RealD glasses. Anchored by the Christie
Freedom® laser illumination system, the CP42LH produces a color gamut that exceeds the DCI P3 color and replicates the
Rec. 2020 space, making it the most advanced RGB laser cinema projection system
available on the market.
In the boutique
theatre at CineEurope one will be able to see the
Christie CP2208-LP, a new DCI-compatible laser phosphor
projection system which offers 11,000 lumens, has the ability to display 3D
contents and requires virtually zero maintenance as no lamp replacements are needed.
“Able to light screens up to 10.5 metres wide, the CP2208-LP is a projector with
low operating costs. Offering outstanding value for money, it is the ideal
choice for independent exhibitors, film festivals and arthouse cinemas with limited
budgets”, said Adil Zerouali, Cinema Director for Christie Europe.
Also, the
mini-theatre will be equipped with the new
Christie Vive Audio LS Series 4-way
screen channel and 2-way surround speakers featuring planar ribbon driver technology
with its low distortion and superior transient response characteristics and will be screening trailers for the
latest cinema releases with 7.1 audio.
More specifically, the theatre
will be outfitted with
LS1
screen channel speakers,
S118 subwoofers and
LS2S surround
speakers. In fact, this will be the
first time to hear the LS Series in
EMEA, which is ideal for the majority of 5.1 and 7.1 distributed audio
applications.
“The system provides excellent balance between cost
and performance and enables exhibitors affordable access to optimum quality
cinema audio.
It is the perfect choice for distributed audio applications in small and
medium-sized theatres”, explained Chris Connett, Business Development Manager
for Audio Solutions, Christie Europe. Connett will be taking part in an industry
panel on Tuesday 21 at 11:50 at which he will be speaking about the new Christie Vive Audio LS Series and industry
trends.
The Christie stand
will also be exhibiting various
digital signage solutions to animate cinema lobbies. Visitors will be able to see two units of the
Christie FHD462-X LCD flat
panel arranged in portrait mode.
This 46-inch panel has an ultra-narrow bezel of just 3.7 millimetres and a
depth of just 3 inches. With its LED back-lit display and high pixel density to
ensure stunning realistic images from any viewing distance, the Christie
FHD461-X delivers the brightness and clarity demanded by indoor spaces.
Also on show will be a
Christie FHQ981-L in landscape mode. The exceptional image quality,
contrast and colour-rich visuals of this 98-inch flat panel won it the Sound
& Vision Contractor 2015 Award. This versatile ultra-HD panel combines top
quality performance with low cost of ownership.
Also on the Christie stand will
be three 2x2
Christie® MicroTiles® configurations showing contents with amazing image quality and vibrant life-like colours.
MicroTiles afford the flexibility to design
a digital canvas of almost any shape or
size and are ideal for capturing the attention of cinema-goers.
“Christie is the key supplier for all cinema exhibitors’ needs and we
hope to reconfirm our status as ‘Exhibitors’ Favourite’ at this seminal event
for cinema owners all over Europe,” concluded Adil Zerouali.
