Cacinesa Partners with Barco and Bardan to Become First All-Laser Cinema in El Salvador

Cinionic, the new Barco cinema joint venture, and digital cinema integrator Bardan Cinema, are supporting Cacinesa’s desire to offer guests the best moviegoing experience at Cacinesa Mundo Plaza while helping the exhibitor streamline operations across the theater with 100 percent Barco laser projectors.

Cinionic, as Barco, and Bardan have collaborated for many years on the latest cinema technologies designed to deliver superior image quality and operational efficiencies for exhibitors in Latin America and the Southeast United States. Cacinesa is the latest multiplex to feature Barco Smart Laser projectors in every auditorium.

As the El Salvador cinema market matures, Cacinesa understands the value that an all-laser multiplex can bring to their bottom line as a prime market differentiator.

About Cacinesa: Multicinema is the only Independent Salvadorian own cinema exhibitor, with more than 50 years of experience in film exhibition. Although small for today’s standards, Multicinema has always embraced and deployed the latest technological trends to meet the demands of moviegoers throughout the years. Multicenama was founded in 1956 by Mr. Francisco Urdampilleta and Elorza and his wife Mrs. Dolores Ayala de Urdampilleta, in the city of Santa Ana in El Salvador under the name Salvadorian Cinematographic. Cine Novedades and Colón in Santa Ana were the first cinemas under the brand and later adding Cine Barrios in San Miguel. In 1967 the company made a great investment by building the Gran Majestic Cinema in the City of San Salvador. This auditorium was built at the time with the latest technology equipment and unique design becoming an icon and a benchmark for the country and region, receiving a number of several accolade. Today Multicinema has 13 movie theaters in El Salvador. In 2018, Multicinema make history once again by becoming the first cinema exhibitors in El Salvador and in the Central American region to offer full laser projection technology in its renovated complex Multicinema Plaza Mundo.
