Severtson and Bardan Supply Eight Screens for Cineplanet’s Newest Cinema in Peru’s Mall Aventura

  • The Screens Were All Manufactured with Severtson’s Acclaimed Cine Perf  Screen Materials and Shipped Folded (Including the Silver 3D Screen),  Reducing Int’l Shipping Expenses by Up to 70 Percent
Severtson Screens (severtsonscreens.com), a global leader in innovative and quality projection screens for the cinema, commercial, pro AV, and home theater markets, is proud to announce that it has supplied eight cinema screens for Cineplanet’s newest cinema in the Mall Aventura in Chiclayo, Peru, which recently opened March 31.

“We are thrilled to have worked with Bardan and to be a part of this fantastic new cinema,” explained Dan Maxwell, Severtson Corp. V.P. & Chief Operating Officer. “With our array of cinema screens and the facility’s complement of leading audio/video equipment, customers will have incredible cinematic experiences for many years to come.”

The screens range in size from 5.36m x 9.67m up to 8.34m x 15.2m and are all manufactured with Severtson’s acclaimed Cine Perf screen materials. One of the eight auditoriums also includes a 7.39m x 13.42m screen with Severtson’s SēVision 3D GX coating for 3D movie experiences. All eight screens were shipped folded for reduced shipping expenses.

According to Cineplanet, since they ordered high gain screens prior to the pandemic, they were worried about any eventual damage from being stored for such a long time until the installation resumed. Upon inspection at the time of the recent installation, the screens experienced no problems at all with the packaging and coating quality remaining excellent.

Along with Severtson’s screens, Bardan provided Cineplanet’s newest cinema with Barco DP2K-10SLP and DP2K-15CLP laser projectors, Dolby IMS3000 servers, and 3D DepthQ for the clearest and brightest 3D images possible.

“Not only did Severtson provide the screens to spec and on time, but in order to meet our budgetary constraints, all eight screens were shipped folded for terrific savings,” explained Oscar Araya, Bardan Sales Account Executive. “Severtson was terrific to work with and their screens are second-to-none, making them the perfect fit for this project and to solidify Cineplanet’s desire to be the premier theatre in the region.”

Maxwell added, “Our folded shipping method allows for no loss in the screen’s structural nor visual integrity, and now makes international distribution of our cinema screens highly affordable, reducing international shipping costs by up to 70 percent.”

Founded in 1986, Severtson Corporation continues to be a global leader in innovation and quality. The Severtson family’s extensive experience in manufacturing small home theater screens and large cinema screens has given Severtson Corporation the expertise to meet the needs of the professional and consumer AV markets for both indoor applications as well as large outdoor venues. With its Arizona-based production facilities and its state-of-the-art robotic application system, Severtson has massive production capabilities and an unusually wide array of screens. The screens range in size from massive movie theaters to comfortable home theaters, and everything in between.

Severtson Corporation is a member of the International Cinema Technology Association. They have manufactured cinema screens for theaters in countries all over the world, including the United States, Mexico, Canada, Korea, Japan, Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, Spain, Germany, France, New Zealand, Australia, Netherlands, Thailand, Scotland, China, Russia, and many more. To meet the challenge of creating extremely large screens, Severtson Corporation designed a robotic spray-arm application system to paint its high-performance optical coating in-house on screens as large as 67.75ft.x 150ft. (20.7m x 45.8m). It is currently the largest in-house cinema screen optical coating system in the world. Severtson Screens certifications and partners include Technicolor, MasterImage, Dolby, Volfoni, LightspeeD & DepthQ, and RealD (www.severtsonscreens.com/certifications).
