Cinionic Expands Exclusive Relationship with CJ CGV Cinemas

Exclusive relationship features leading Barco projection and Barco Alchemy media servers
Cinionic, the Barco, CGS, and ALPD cinema joint venture, announces an expanded exclusive relationship with South Korean-based exhibitor CJ CGV Cinemas to power more theaters with leading projection solutions. Under the new agreement, Cinionic will provide a technology mix that includes Barco Alchemy ICMP-X media servers and Barco projection for all new CJ CGV theaters over the next two years as the circuit pursues its ambitious growth strategy. CJ CGV is currently the largest theater chain in South Korea and 5th largest multiplex company in the world, with locations in China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Turkey, Myanmar, and the United States.
 
Cinionic will work with CJ CGV to power all new builds and renewals with Barco Alchemy media servers and its leading projection solutions. The circuit, which features an in-house TMS, was looking for an advanced media server capable of seamless integration with CJ CGV’s custom software suite. After extensive testing, Barco Alchemy stood out for its adaptability and versatility as an integral part of CJ  CGV’s unique technology eco-system.  
 
Cinionic solutions are fully integrated to deliver CJ CGV increased peace of mind and proven functionality in the field. Barco Alchemy ICMP-X combines the functionalities of an Integrated Cinema Processor (ICP) and media server into one. With rich alternative content inputs and the most powerful DCI decoding in the industry, Barco Alchemy media servers are at the heart of more than 21,000 projectors worldwide.
