Christie, a global leader in Digital Cinema, is pleased to announce Shanghai Film Group (SFG) Corporation has selected Christie exclusively for its Digital Cinema deployment plan. Under the initial phase of this growing nationwide plan, SFG will purchase and install a total of 100 Christie DLP Cinema(r) projectors in its United Circuit, located in China. The installation is expected to be complete by the end of April 2008.
After extensive testing of systems, SFG selected Christie’s acclaimed CP2000 DLP Cinema projector for its superior quality image and reliability. Christie’s renowned CP2000 series projectors have long received positive reviews from the industry for their excellent brightness, contrast, true color reproduction, quality, and product integrity. The contract was also awarded based on the company’s proven leadership, with a commanding 80% worldwide market share which includes more than 4,600 systems worldwide – as well as extensive understanding of the cinema industry.
“Digital Cinema is accelerating globally. We selected the Christie CP2000 DLP Cinema projector based on its remarkable image quality and reliability, as well as its globally-accepted technology,” comments Zhonglun Ren, president, SFG. “We hope to work with the world’s best companies such as Christie to help bring the standard and quality of the movies in China to newer heights.”
“SFG holds an important place in the China cinema market. It will benefit greatly from this digital rollout and play a part in developing the enormous potential of cinema in China,” comments Lin Yu, vice president of sales, Christie Asia Pacific. “We’re proud of the confidence they have in selecting us to be their partner, and we look forward to giving our full support to SFG and other cinema players to help China in a full Digital Cinema deployment plan.”
