Tapping its information and research capabilities, The Hollywood Reporter has been named “Presenting Partner” of 3DX: 3D Film & Entertainment Technology Festival – the first-ever festival of its kind dedicated to stereoscopic 3-D.
“THR’s ability to analyize trends and develop information will be a tremndious asset to the various stakeholders attending 3DX in Novmber”, says the Executive Producer Jim Chabin. The Reporter’s Vice President and Publishher, Eric Mika, will present a special 3-D outlook analysist to follow the kennote presentations by 20th Century Fox Filmed Entertainment Chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos, Dreamworks Animation’s Jeffrey Katzenberg and Special Guest James Cameron. MPAA Chairman Dan Glickman will also deliver an All Industry Address for the exhibitors, producers, technology decision makers and press in attendance.
The 3DX festival and forum will take place from November 19 – 23, 2008 in Singapore and will be comprised of a business forum and film festival including: public screenings, festival based showings of newly released 3-D films, international speaker sessions and a gala red carpet reception.
The Festival will be produced by Chabin Partners in Los Angeles and hosted by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) with support from the Singapore Tourism Board, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and Singapore Economic Development Board. Participating organizations include CNBC, Content Asia, NBC Universal TV Asia, Star TV and Star Movies, TV Week and The Motion Picture Association. SingTel of Singapore has been named the Offical Event Partner of the 3DX Festival.
