Arclight Cinemas Selects GDC Servers for Digital Deployment
GDC Technology (“GDC Tech”), a world leading digital cinema solution provider, is pleased to announce today it has reached a server supply agreement with the innovative ArcLight Cinemas (“ArcLight”). GDC Tech’s SX-2000A Digital Cinema Servers with Integrated Media Block (IMB) will be installed throughout ArcLight’s cinemas, launching the advanced digital capabilities of each unique site. To date 48 systems have been installed in four different locations. Under the new server agreement, ACS Enterprises Inc. (“ACS”) will supply and install GDC digital cinema servers.
Created and opened by Pacific Theatres in the spring of 2002, ArcLight represents an exciting evolution in the movie-going experience. ArcLight Cinema’s signature amenities including “black box” auditoriums, extra-wide seats with double armrests, stadium seating, digital projection and a wide variety of dynamic programming ranging from the newest Hollywood blockbusters to independent art house fare, cult favorites and classics, and 21+ screenings, making it one of the most popular destinations for discerning moviegoers. ArcLight operates 61 screens at four locations in Southern California, with Hollywood boasting the historic and unique Cinerama Dome – one of only three such theaters in the world today.
“In making this important transition, we wanted to ensure the new technology would support our goal of providing the best possible movie going experience for our guests. We chose GDC Tech because of their excellent customer support and reliable servers that are rich in features that met our requirements.” said Joe Miraglia, director of design, construction & facilities of ArcLight. “GDC Tech has an excellent technical support team which is extremely reliable, and that, for us, is the most basic foundation for a successful new relationship.”
“ACS is very proud of our partnership with the ArcLight and Pacific Theatres family, and its choice of ACS for its digital cinema conversion,” said Jose Alvarado, CEO of ACS. “And we’re grateful to GDC Tech for assisting our client throughout this entire process.”
“We’re very excited to be selected by a pioneering company such as ArcLight. This new partnership shows that we’re a reliable choice to provide the highest-quality technology for even the most innovative clients,” said Dr. Man-Nang Chong, founder and CEO of GDC Tech. “We’re confident that this new relationship will take us to new heights of cinema evolution, and we truly appreciate ArcLight’s decision.”
