Ultra Stereo
Labs, Inc. (USL, Inc.), a pioneer in digital cinema technology products for the
motion picture industry, has made new technological upgrades on the LSS-100P.
Introduced in 2012, the LSS-100P Light & Sound Sensor provides daily
testing of digital projection and sound equipment in individual auditoriums.
The new advancements include royalty-free reporting software suitable for
operation in a cinema or in a network operations center (NOC) that handles a
group of chains. Extensive Web-based reports and e-mail alerts are included
with this new software. A demo version is available on a bootable USB flash
drive.
In addition to these
latest upgrades, new options have become available. With the LSS-100P Atmos®
option, a technician can immediately identify possible speaker or amplifier
problems in an installation. The LSS-100P lip-sync test option verifies proper
synchronization of satellite feeds. The LSS-100P will be on display, with
tutorial sessions scheduled for industry technicians, in the USL, Inc. booth
(#635) at the CineEurope convention, June 22-25, in Barcelona, Spain.
“Since its
introduction, we’ve made several hardware and software improvements to the
LSS-100P based on industry feedback,” stated Harold Hallikainen, USL, Inc.’s
senior engineer. “Now, with the LSS-100P reporting software, it’s easy to
monitor the performance of thousands of screens,” added Hallikainen. “The
LSS-100P has been installed worldwide with terrific acceptance from the cinema
industry. This year at CineEurope, we will be conducting training in our booth
on the LSS-100P and its latest software improvements,” commented Clint Koch,
USL, Inc.’s sales director.
For over
thirty-three years, USL, Inc. has been a global leader for technical
achievements in design, manufacture, research, and development of cinema
products, and it was the 2013 winner of the International Cinema Technology
Association’s Manufacturer of the Year award.
