CJ 4DPLEX, the world's leading cinema technology company, wrapped up
the 2018 CineAsia trade show in Hong Kong with several momentum-building deals
on the exhibitor and content sides of the business.
The four
day trade show at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong
featured several CJ 4PLEX announcements including:
- Sony Pictures Entertainment announced a multi-picture deal with CJ 4PLEX
adding 13 films to the immersive 4DX format's slate for 2019. Beginning with
"Escape Room" in January, 4DX will offer an impressive lineup of
films to include live-action and animated releases including "Miss
Bala," "Greyhound," "The
Intruder," "BrightBurn," "Men in Black International,”
"Grudge," "Spider-Man:
Far from Home," "The Angry Birds Movie 2," "Zombieland
2," "Charlie's Angels," Untitled "Jumanji: Welcome to the
Jungle" sequel and "Masters of the Universe."
- Pakistan based exhibitor Cinepax announced plans to
launch the first two 4DX theaters in Pakistan. The two locations, Ocean Tower
Mall in Karachi and Packages Mall in Lahore, will launch in 2019.
- Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) announced they will launch
the first three ScreenX theaters in Malaysia.
The two companies will also launch three new 4DX theaters based on an
agreement made at CineAsia 2017.
