The Nielsen Film Group Expands Its Team
In order to better serve our clients in both the domestic and international markets, the Nielsen Film Group has expanded its sales force to more properly position the company and its brands in a constantly changing motion picture industry”, stated Robert Sunshine, Senior Vice-President of The Nielsen Film Group.
Two major appointments have been announced by Mitch Neuhauser, Vice-President of the Nielsen Film Group. “Tommaso Campione joins the team as International Show Director of Cinema Expo International and CineAsia and Nellie Chung comes on board as a sales executive to better serve the needs of our valuable customers of ShoWest, ShowEast, CEI and CineAsia,” remarked Neuhauser.
Mr. Campione will be responsible for international sales, marketing and business development for CEI and CineAsia. In his new role Campione will work closely with Neuhauser. He will also be based in London. Prior to joining Nielsen, Campione was International Business Executive with Variety International, managing sales and business development across Europe. Before Variety, he was Business Development Manager at a Vivendi Universal company, working across content, advertising and multi-platform initiatives.
Nellie comes to The Film Group with a wealth of sales expertise and is no stranger to Nielsen Business Media. Most recently, Nellie was a sales executive of Nielsen Business Media’s Convenience Store News. During her tenure at CSN, she developed relationships with many companies that also exhibit at film group trade shows. Nellie is credited with having a winning client service style, being an integral part of her client’s success, bringing new clients to the brand and successfully growing market share.
As the digital age becomes more of a reality and with nearly 4,000 digital movie screens worldwide, Film Journal International has expanded its editorial staff to include Bill Mead as Digital Cinema Editor.
Bill Mead has been involved in the marketing and deployment of new cinema technologies since 1976. He is currently the publisher, editor, and developer of DCinemaToday.com, an industry web site that provides information to exhibitors and other stakeholders about the emerging digital cinema business. DCinemaToday has been the industry’s number one online resource since May 2003.
Previously, in 2001 and 2002, Bill was a consultant to Texas Instruments DLP Cinema division, where he advised in their effort to extend the TI and DLP brands within the cinema exhibition community. From 1995 until 2001, Bill was Vice President, International Business Development for Sony Cinema Product Corp. in Culver City, CA, working with Sony’s SDDS digital sound system.
From 1976 until 1995, Bill was with Dolby Laboratories in San Francisco, beginning as an engineering technician assisting in the development and deployment of early Dolby Stereo sound systems. During his 19 years at Dolby, Bill was involved in virtually all aspects of Dolby’s cinema technology program, leaving in 1995 as Vice President of Film Marketing.
With these new appointments, The Nielsen Film Group will be able to continue to serve its markets and expand its services to the industry. The Nielsen Film Group is part of Nielsen Business Media and operates four major industry conventions, ShoWest, ShowEast, Cinema Expo International and CineAsia, as well as publishes Film Journal International.
