Nevafilm Company digitally mastered multimillion epic MONGOL for release in digital cinemas
Nevafilm Company via its Digital Cinema Laboratory NEVAFILM DIGITAL has produced the digital mastering of “Mongol. Part One” movie for release in digital cinemas of Russia.
The new movie by Sergei Bodrov Sr. “Mongol. Part One” is about the Great Khan of Mongol Empire – Genghis Khan (Temudgin), and has a budget of 15 million euros. It is a major international co-production with the participation of Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan and the USA.
The big digital premier of “Mongol. Part One” on Russian digital screens is on September 21, 2007. To date there are 10 commercial digital screens in Russia.
“Mongol. Part One” became the third movie of CTB film company released in digital. Before there were such movies as “Cargo 200” by Alexey Balabanov) – the first Russian Digital Cinema feature (released on 06/14/2007) and “Antidope” by Vladimir Schegolkov (released on 09/06/2007).
Digital mastering of all these CTB’s movies, as well as digital cinema packages (DCP) and key delivery messages (KDM) preparation were produced by Digital Cinema Laboratory of Nevafilm Company in Saint-Petersburg, Russia with the use of Doremi DMS-2000 digital mastering station.
The official distributor of “Mongol. Part One” movie and other CTB’s projects is Nashe Kino, which is the first Russian distributor released movie for screening not only in traditional cinemas, but in digital cinemas as well (“Cargo 200”).
Recently Nashe Kino announced about the commitment to Christie Digital Systems to release future movies of CTB in a digital format. All Nashe Kino future releases will be digitally mastered by Nevafilm.
