Barco, a global leader in digital cinema, will be present at Cinema Expo ’08 with an impressive number of today’s digital cinema possibilities. From new product introductions to the very latest 3D
solutions, alternative content and gaming… Visiting the Barco booth is a true voyage to tomorrow’s world of digital cinema technology.
This year’s Cinema Expo features the world premiere of the DP-1200, Barco’s newest digital cinema projector, custom made for the small venue market. Built on the renowned technology of the Barco DP family, the DP-1200 is designed for
screens up to 12m (40ft) wide and is ideal for applications that could not find a place for digital cinema before. Thanks to the DP-1200 even the smallest cinemas now have access to digital cinema, at an affordable price.
Three of Barco’s DP-series projectors – DP1200, DP1500 and the DP3000 - will show all possibilities of today’s Digital Cinema projectors live on several screens.
Some of the greatest alternative content will be projected with the new DP-1200. These breathtaking images will be provided by Euro 1080 - the very first High Definition Television Company in Europe - initiated, co-ordinated and promoted by Alfacam, a Belgium based company providing TV facilities and services to broadcasters and production houses all over the world.
Equally exciting is Barco’s gaming zone. The DP-1200 projector will give visitors the opportunity to take part in the 2008 European Soccer Championship! Booth visitors will get the chance to become the captain of the national team of their choice, and play against any other European country.
More entertainment is coming from the DP-3000 projector. Barco’s brightest DP series projector will project several trailers of today and tomorrow’s blockbuster movies.
The newly integrated 3D set-up based on Dolby’s spectral modulation of light will be shown on the DP 1500. This projector, together with the DP2000, can be provided with a factory-built-in Dolby 3D solution. At Cinema Expo, Barco will show you some of the latest 3D trailers.
In Amsterdam, Barco also presents the company’s new DualPolar 3D solution, based on the polarization of light. This technology, as used by Real D, requires the cinema’s to have a silver screen. The DualPolar 3D can be used for
screens up to 20m and consists of an easy to mount framework to stack the DP2000 and DP1500. Barco’s DualPolar 3D solution is the easiest and cheapest stacking solution in the industry.
This year, you can visit the Barco booth (Suite F) at Cinema Expo from June 23rd to 26th at the RAI in Amsterdam.
