AccessIT's Hollywood Software to Launch International TDS™ Motion Picture Distribution Management Software
New Software to Simplify International Film Releasing, Provides Platform for Global Digital Cinema Distribution
ccess Integrated Technologies, Inc. ("AccessIT") (AMEX: AIX) announced that the company's Hollywood Software subsidiary is planning the launch of an international version of its popular TDS™ (Theatre Distribution System) software.
Hollywood Software's TDS software is currently used by four of the seven major US movie studios and 23 independents to manage the operational and financial elements of domestic film distribution including release scheduling, film print tracking, electronic box office reporting and settlement accounting.
The international extension of TDS builds upon the success of Hollywood Software's domestic TDS system. This comes at a time when each of the major studios are reevaluating, replacing or significantly enhancing their current systems to cope with the ever-increasing importance of the international theatrical marketplace. Also spurring this reevaluation effort is the growing need to control piracy and the emergence of digital cinema.
The enhanced international application will support French, Japanese, Italian, Spanish and German. The application will also have the capability to run either from a single central location or multiple distributed locations. The international product will build upon many of the same features that have made TDS the industry standard in the domestic distribution of films, including: integrated planning, interfaces for box office figures, print tracking, financials and an overall streamlined work flow process. Furthermore, through integration with AccessIT's Digital Cinema distribution technologies including its Digital Express E-Courier services, TDS International will seamlessly provide the capability for the worldwide distribution of digital cinema content.
"TDS has been used to manage the film distribution process for over 20 distributors in the US/Canadian marketplace and has evolved into the industry standard," commented Hollywood Software President and COO, David Gajda. "These studios now rely on TDS every day for the mission-critical management of the film distribution process. Previously, international distribution was a complicated and time-sensitive process due to all the business factors and logistics of managing a film release in multiple countries worldwide. With TDS International, we will not only be able to offer a comprehensive and proven software solution to a new worldwide market, but we will also provide our customers with a platform that is able to support the next wave of content distribution, digital cinema."
