GDC Technology (“GDC”), a world leading digital cinema solution provider, is pleased to announce today the signing of a digital cinema deployment contract with Zhe Jiang Time Cinema.
The contract is a repeat order which involves the deployment of 200 units of GDC SX-2000A Digital Cinema Server with Integrated Media Block by the end of 2011. This latest success has not only further strengthened the close partnership between Zhe Jiang Time Cinema and GDC, but has also consolidated GDC’s top selling position in China’s digital cinema server market.
Zhe Jiang Time Cinema World Co., Ltd. was founded in 2003 and spearheaded the establishment of a provincial-wide cinema circuit under the banner of “Zhe Jiang Time Cinema”. Right on the year of its inception, the circuit swiftly snatched up 60.7% of the provincial market and instantly became the market leader in Zhe Jiang province. As at 2010, despite facing stiff competitions from other cinema circuits, Zhe Jiang Time Cinema still maintains its leading position in Hangzhou (the provincial capital) and grows its business steadily in other tier-2/tier-3 cities within Zhe Jiang province, firmly capturing 55% of the provincial market and maintaining its position as the 7th largest cinema chain operator in China. By the end of 2010, Zhe Jiang Time Cinema has increased its number of directly-operated cinemas to around 20, signed cinemas to 80, and total number of cinema screens to about 400. Other targets have been achieved within the same time frame include expanding Zhe Jiang Time Cinema into other provincial cities such as Cixi, Yongkang, Shaoxing and Shangyu, 40% rise in box-office takings, and breaking the 420-million-RMB mark in total box-office revenue.
