Bow Tie Cinemas Partners with MasterImage 3D in their Continued Commitment to a Digital 3D Cinema Rollout

Bow Tie’s Move from Film to Digital Taps MasterImage 3D’s Technology and Competitive Business Model
MasterImage 3D, Inc., a provider of pioneering 3D solutions for theaters, announced that it has strengthened its partnership with Bow Tie Cinemas in the deployment of digital 3D cinema systems.  In migrating the predominant majority of its circuit from film to digital, Bow Tie Cinemas is working exclusively with MasterImage 3D to supply MI-2100 digital 3D systems and polarized 3D eyewear.

Bow Tie Cinemas is a four-generation, family-owned company with 20 locations and 169 screens throughout Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, New York and Colorado.  This relationship will bring MasterImage 3D systems to several of Bow Tie’s flagship theaters in markets such as Richmond, VA, Annapolis, MD, New Haven, Stamford and Norwalk, CT.

“MasterImage’s systems offer the highest level of picture quality and clarity to our movie-goers in a 3D cinematic experience,” said Ben Moss, Owner of Bow-Tie.  “Their combination of cutting-edge, unsurpassed technology and a sensible, well-executed business model made working with MasterImage on our 3D Cinema Deployment an easy and obvious decision.”

The MasterImage MI-2100 digital 3D cinema system offers high-quality presentation, single-or multi-use eyewear, is easily portable between screens and is available through a compelling, ownership-based pricing model.  The MasterImage MI-1000 glass filters are universal and work optimally with MasterImage 3D glasses for oversized screen installations.

Supported by all six major Hollywood studios and many independent distributors, MasterImage 3D systems are installed in over 70 countries worldwide.  This increased commitment from Bow Tie Cinemas continues MasterImage 3D recent global expansion including announcements with Cinema City International, Les Cinemas Gautmont Pathe, TOHO Cinemas and Kinepolis Group.

“Bow Tie Cinemas is one of the most respected and knowledgeable circuits in the United States,” said Peter Koplik, President Digital Cinema, MasterImage 3D.  “Like many cinema owners around the world, the Moss family trusts our technology and business offering as they expand their commitment to premium quality 3D presentation.”

About Bow Tie Cinemas: Bow Tie Cinemas was founded over 100 years ago, in the era of the Nickelodeon, when B.S. Moss began his long and illustrious career providing popular entertainment to the public. The business of operating street front Nickelodeons quickly gave way to Vaudeville, which was the heart of B.S. Moss Theaters until the 1930s when B.S. Moss sold his last Vaudeville theater and dedicated himself fully to building and operating motion picture theaters. In 1936, B.S. Moss opened the Criterion Theater, known then as The Theater of Tomorrow, on Broadway in the heart of Times Square. The Criterion was the first motion picture theater built exclusively for the exhibition of talking motion pictures. It operated continuously for 63 years and was the home of several major New York film premiers, including Sleeping Beauty, My Fair Lady, Funny Girl, Lawrence of Arabia, and Alien. Today, Bow Tie Cinemas is dedicated to returning style and elegance to the movie-going experience. In each of its 20 locations and 169 screens, Bow Tie Cinemas provides the best possible presentation and service to its patrons, continuing in the tradition of its founder.
