Frank Theatres is expanding its commitment to Sony 4K digital
cinema projection technology with its newest location – Delray Beach, Fla.
–open this month. The new location features 11 Sony 4K-equipped screens, and
continues the digital conversion that the exhibitor began with Sony in 2009.
"The
future of the movie theater has evolved into a broader entertainment
destination, that includes a dining experience, and interactive games, like
bowling,” said Bruce Frank, CEO of Frank Theatres. “For any theatre, large or
small, it’s critical to always provide the latest technology options and
enhance every part of the movie-going experience, and we selected the Sony 4K
projectors as part of our future planning, delivering the highest resolution,
image quality and presentation flexibility.”
Frank
Theatres operates 25 theaters and 256 screens across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West
Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and Georgia. The exhibitor’s
philosophy is to foster a tradition of offering its customers more than just
first-run features, but also a unique “out of the home” experience, highlighting
the movie theater as a central entertainment destination. In addition to a
bowling alley, the sprawling Delray Beach location will also offer a
full-service restaurant and bar, among its other many upscale amenities.
“Frank Theatres is making technology
a priority across its operations,” said Michael Houser, national account
manager, Sony’s Digital Cinema Solutions group. “One of the earlier adopters of
Sony 4K technology, Frank understands the importance of what we have to offer
both from our technology and our flexible VPF program.”
