XDC, Christie and FTT Complete Year One of a Successful Implementation and Extend Their Digital Cinema Presence in Germany.
XDC is very proud to announce that with its partners Christie and FTT, it has
successfully installed 63 Digital Cinema theatres across, Germany, Austria and
Switzerland, making these countries the leaders in the Digital Cinema roll out
in Europe. XDC, FTT and Christie have decided to consolidate their preferred
partnership in Germany and hence wish to keep the momentum in order to
accelerate the migration to Digital Cinema by offering a reliable and
experienced winning team solution to the market.
“We understand that Digital Cinema will grow in a significant way in Germany
within the next two years and we do want to position our team as the most
powerful and reliable on the market. XDC will extend all needed efforts to
respond to our customers’ needs, both distributors and exhibitors. The new XDC
business proposal has been updated and is now more open and more attractive”,
said Bernard Collard, General Manager XDC International.
“Digital content is a key parameter for roll out in Europe and we are now very
confident that XDC, by offering various open solutions to the content providers,
will attract more and more international and local digital releases to the XDC
financed screens”, said John B. Birchell Hughes, Senior Vice President
Production and Distributor relations for XDC International.
“We are very excited about the current developments and very happy to work
together with the most experienced installers of Digital Cinema like Christie’s
partner Film Ton Technik in Germany”, said Richard Nye, Christie European Market
Development Manager.
“The fact that we have just received another order from XDC for 20 Christie
CP2000 DLP Cinema® projectors clearly demonstrates the acceptance of Digital
Cinema in Europe, Christie’s unsurpassed mark of quality and the pioneering
efforts of XDC within the European market place”, said Dale Miller, Christie
Vice President EMEA.
“Integration and support have now become day to day experience for the FTT savve
engineers. We are very proud to be part of the winning team and we’ll continue
to consolidate our resources in order to offer our customers the best services
in a digital world still living together with the 35mm environment”, said Thomas
Rüttgers, Managing Director FTT.
Last but not least, XDC is fully committed to offer up to date solutions to its
customers and has just announced a JPEG 2000 solution provided by the expert
company DoReMi. Servers will be ready for shipping by early May this year. “This
comprehensive investment should be seen by all the industry as a clear
commitment from XDC to support JPEG 2000 as soon as possible.” concludes Laurent
Minguet, CEO of XDC. “We hope that this strategic move from XDC will allow a
larger number of movies to be screened digitally … offering to both exhibitors
and moviegoers the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of Digital Cinema.”
