Moving iMage Technologies (MIT) has signed
an agreement to acquire the assets of Caddy Products Inc. (Caddy). Caddy Products® are utilized in over 270,000
facilities throughout more than 91 countries worldwide.
Their markets include cinema, sports,
grocery, performing arts, worship and retail industries. Products include patented cup holders, trays
and advertising displays. Jim
Winebarger, Director, Caddy Products, said, “I’m excited to be part of the MIT
family and look forward to expanding and growing the Caddy Products offerings.”
Caddy
was originally started in 1989 by Phil Rafnson, Chairman of MIT, as a division
of MTS (Media Technology Source). MTS
was sold in 1999, and in 2002 Caddy was spun off in a sale to Phil Rafnson, who
brought in Peter Bergin as a partner.
Phil later sold control and eventually all of his interest to Peter in
2014. MIT is
acquiring Caddy Products from Peter’s estate, following his tragic death early
this year. Phil commented “Peter did a
great job building Caddy into a substantial business, and we plan to continue
his policies of top-quality products and excellent customer service, while
growing Caddy into a powerhouse in its markets.”
