GDC Technology Limited (‘GDC’), a leading global provider of digital cinema solutions, announced today that Lotte Cinema selected GDC’s SR-1000 Standalone Integrated Media Block™ for Lotte Cinema World Tower, which is upgrading the projection booth technology as part of a renovation project.
The renovation started last year with plans to complete all 21 halls by this year. Lotte Cinema will replace their legacy media servers with the industry’s leading SR-1000 media servers. Lotte Cinema selected GDC because of the media servers’ proven reliability, powerful features, and outstanding technical services provided by the GDC Korea office. The GDC Korea service team and GDC's integration partners will install the SR-1000 IMB’s and continually provide technical service to ensure the best possible cinemagoing experience.
Lotte World Tower, the tallest building in Korea is the flagship site of Lotte Cinema World Tower and is the largest multiplex theatre in Korea with 21 halls and a total of 4,276 seats. It is located in Gangnam, Seoul, at 300 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, and opened on October 16, 2014. The multiplex is known for its Superplex, a super-large and flagship cinema format.
