Premiere Theaters to Create Digital Cinema Multiplex with Dolby Digital Cinema
Independent theater chain to install nine additional Dolby Digital Cinema server systems to create digital multiplex after a year of proven success
Premiere Theaters L.L.C. today announced that it plans to open a complete digital cinema multiplex using Dolby® Digital Cinema systems. The theater chain will deploy nine Dolby Digital Cinema systems in addition to the one installed in November 2005.
Premiere Theaters Oaks 10 is one of the 84 sites nationwide that installed the Dolby Digital Cinema system in its theater for the release of "Chicken Little" in digital 3-D. In the last year, Premiere Theaters has seen ongoing success with its digital presentations due to the steady stream of movies being released in a digital format and the reliability, ease-of-use, and outstanding product quality of Dolby Digital Cinema systems.
"We are committed to providing the very best moviegoing experience possible for our customers. The crystal clear images presented with the Dolby Digital Cinema system are a tremendous enhancement for our patrons," said Rob Kurrus, President of Premiere Theaters L.L.C. "When people hear the words 'Dolby Digital' they immediately think awesome sound. Now with Dolby Digital Cinema, people can also expect an amazing picture."
Located in Melbourne, Florida, Premiere Theaters offers a high-end cinema-going experience, blending classical design and ambiance with cutting edge technology. The theater has undergone a critical transformation to transition its screens to digital in the last few months by deploying Dolby Digital Cinema. Built to ensure the highest levels of quality and security in the industry, Dolby Digital Cinema features a complete digital system for storing, managing and playing digital movies. With Dolby Digital Cinema, exhibitors benefit from the combination of superior technology and round the clock customer support.
"I explored the possibility of using other digital cinema solutions, but it just didn't make sense to use anyone else," continued Kurrus. "The Dolby Digital Cinema system we have installed now runs perfectly. Since our installation last year, every single digital cinema showing has been flawless, both in sound and image."
"We're pleased to be working again with Premiere Theaters by supplying nine additional Dolby Digital Cinema systems to create an entire digital cinema multiplex," said Tim Partridge, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Professional Division, Dolby Laboratories. "We are committed to providing not only the highest quality product, but the continuing education and services that our customers have learned to count on from Dolby."
To date, more than 50 digital movies have been presented in Dolby Digital Cinema with more than 175 systems installed worldwide in North America, Japan, China, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, and the UK.
