“We’re excited to once again partner with Christie as the official projection partner for the 2024 AIMC,” said Cameron Mitchell, executive director of CAA. “Christie’s longstanding commitment to advancing projection technology and supporting the cinema industry in Australasia is second to none. Their state-of-the-art solutions are setting new standards in visual excellence, and we’re proud to showcase their latest innovations at this year’s convention. Delegates can expect nothing less than an extraordinary cinematic experience.”

We are humbled that the AIMC and leading industry players trust Christie’s advanced technology to deliver the best in cinematic projection. We’re proud that studios will be showcasing their content at the convention using our projection systems, ensuring that every screening delivers the highest-quality visuals for all attendees.”
Delegates can look forward to mesmerizing visuals from Christie’s powerful RGB pure laser projectors fitted in The HOYTS Theatre, a versatile venue capable of accommodating up to 1,800 guests. The space will once again be transformed into a multi-screen cinema, operated by
HOYTS Cinema Technology Group,
Original Syndicate, and
Dreamweavers for screenings and presentations.
At the heart of this impressive setup is the 35,000-lumen
Christie CP4435-RGB pure laser cinema projector, which will illuminate a 12-meter-wide main screen with vivid, lifelike images. This compact, all-in-one, DCI-compliant projector features
CineLife+™ electronics and
Real|Laser™ illumination, ensuring an extraordinary viewing experience for all attendees. With its brilliant illumination and advanced technology, the CP4435-RGB has impressed Australian audiences on multiple occasions, including the recently concluded
SXSW Sydney 2024.
Additionally, two
Christie M 4K25 RGB pure laser projectors will be deployed in the theatre to create dynamic projections on two 6.4-meter-wide side screens, specially configured for this movie convention. With their ability to deliver stunning imagery, these projectors are set to captivate audiences throughout the event.
Christie will host a partner workshop at AIMC to showcase the new
CineLife+™ RBe projectors and
IMB-S4 integrated media block. The RBe projectors, featuring Phazer™ illumination technology, support screens up to 14 meters wide and offer up to 11,000 lumens of brightness, making them ideal for smaller venues and boutique cinemas. Meanwhile, the IMB-S4 provides a cost-effective, DCI-compliant solution for securely delivering packaged films, enhancing the moviegoing experience for exhibitors.
Christie’s participation at AIMC will also feature two speaking engagements. Brian Claypool, executive vice president for Cinema, will present on Variable Dynamic Range (VDR) at The HOYTS Theatre on Wednesday, October 30, at 2:40 p.m. His session will demonstrate how this technology further enhances image quality, allowing audiences to experience richer cinematic visuals.
