The QuVIS Acuity now offers real-time digital video mastering capabilities never before seen on a single server, providing workflow solutions that directly increase HD and Digital Cinema content production efficiencies and profitability.
“The QuVIS Acuity is a powerhouse of functionality that has been aggressively engineered with new real-time processing options for use in HD, 2K, 3D and 4K content production and distribution packaging,” John Isermann, QuVIS Product Manager, said.
Long considered the standard for wavelet encoding, the Acuity now features 16-channel audio mastering support and eight new real-time processing options, including: Real-time JPEG2000 HD/2D Encoding, Real-time JPEG2000 3D Encoding, Real-time 2D 4:2:2 to 4:4:4 Conversion, Real-time Input Colorspace Conversion, Real-time Output Colorspace Conversion, Real-time Content Encryption, and Real-time Timeline Editing and Preview, and Real-time QuVIS TitleMaster server-based digital cinema subtitle rendering.
Real-time JPEG2000 HD/2K Encoding – the ability to record a live HD and 2K video stream using quality-driven DCI JPEG2000 encoding in real-time. The quality priority wavelet-encoding principals employed in QuVIS’ QPE encoding format have been applied to the real-time JPEG2000 encoding process. This patented process guarantees a higher image quality and delivers data compression efficiencies that are significantly better than other JPEG2000 mastering systems. This results in a smaller DCP at a higher image quality.
Real-time JPEG2000 3D Encoding – the ability to record two live 2K (4:2:2) video streams as a single 4:4:4 track using quality-driven DCI JPEG2000 encoding in real-time.
Real-time 2D 4:2:2-to-4:4:4 Conversion – the ability to convert an HD or 2K 4:2:2 video stream to 4:4:4 during real-time JPEG2000 encoding.
Real-time Input Colorspace Conversion – the ability to convert a YUV or RGB input colorspace to Digital Cinema XYZ during real-time JPEG2000 encoding.
Real-time Output Colorspace Conversion – the ability to define the output colorspace to be used during playback.
Real-time Content Encryption – the ability to apply DCI AES encryption to content during the real-time JPEG2000 encoding process.
Real-time Timeline Editing and Preview – the ability to graphically edit and control preview of the individual assets of a 2K or 4K composition timeline from the front panel VTP Editor interface.
Real-time QuVIS TitleMaster – this optional subtitle-rendering engine provides the ability to display composition subtitles during the mastering process without a specialized Digital Cinema projector.
The QuVIS Acuity provides the most advanced mastering capabilities, including: support for Standard Definition (SD), High Definition (HD), 2K and 4K formats in the most comprehensive variety of quality-driven encoding levels, color sampling, frame rates, color spaces, and scanning options available today.
