QuVIS Enables 3D At Cinema Expo 2006
Acclaimed Director James Cameron to discuss 3D and the future of
Digital Cinema
Continuing its position as the leader in
digital cinema innovation, the QuVIS Cinema System will provide
digital 3D playback for the "Digital Cinema: The Future Is Now &
Special 3-D Presentation" seminar. The seminar is being held at this
year's Cinema Expo, at the RAI in Amsterdam. James Cameron, Chairman
and CEO, Lightstorm Entertainment, and outspoken proponent of 3D and
Digital Cinema, will be the keynote speaker. Following Cameron’s
keynote address on the future of Digital Cinema, the audience will be
treated to a 3D Digital Cinema presentation.
Earlier this year, Cameron and QuVIS found themselves on the same
stage at Showeast and NAB, promoting the benefits of Digital Cinema
and 3D to captive audiences. QuVIS has worked with Cameron’s
production and post-production teams since 2003. Lightstorm
Entertainment, Cameron's production arm, uses QuVIS systems for 2D
and 3D applications.
"QuVis hardware and software has proven itself to be versatile and
reliable, so I continue to use it for many of our production and post
production needs. I also find the great support we receive to be a
real asset for our cutting edge processes." said Lightstorm
Entertainment's James Cameron.
By providing spectacular viewing experiences, cutting edge
technologies such as single server 3D and 4K allow the exhibition
community to compete with the growing HD market. The QuVIS Cinema
System provides a single server approach to 3D, with unmatched image
quality and ability to provide a 48 frame per second image output
that is absolutely synchronous via dual-link HD-SDI.
“QuVIS has provided several 3D presentations this year, but we’re
particularly proud of those that have creative visionaries attached,
such as James Cameron.” said George Scheckel, VP of Digital Cinema,
QuVIS, Inc. “There are very compelling business models driving
Digital Cinema, but at the end of the day, it’s still about great
stories and great visual experiences. We don’t consider ourselves a
server manufacturer, but an innovator providing leading edge imaging
technologies that allow the creative community to step further
outside the box. The future of Digital Cinema benefits all parties –
exhibitors, creative visionaries and ultimately, the movie going
public.”
The "Digital Cinema: The Future Is Now & Special 3-D Presentation"
seminar will be held on June 29th, in the RAI Auditorium, Amsterdam –
Cinema Expo 2006.
