The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers is pleased to announce the dates and location for 2008 SMPTE Technical Conference & Exhibition. This event will be held at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, in Hollywood, CA from October 28-30, with a pre-conference symposium being held on Monday, October 27. The pre-conference symposium is titled "How Did They Do That? Innovations in Filmmaking and Live Event Broadcast" Featuring the making of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics and BBC's Planet Earth Series.
The premier event for the motion imaging industry, the SMPTE Technical Conference & Exhibition brings together technology thought-leaders from the post-production, filmmaking, broadcast and cable industries for three days of technical sessions, high-tech exhibition hall and unparalleled networking opportunities. Technical sessions highlight the latest technologies, including, digital Intermediates, stereoscopic, digital cinema exhibition, color management and image acquisition.
In addition to technical sessions, the conference also showcases some of the latest applications, technologies and products in its high-tech exhibit hall. The Exhibit Hall Grand Opening is on Tuesday, Oct. 28. The exhibit then runs through Thursday, October 30.
The SMPTE Technical Conference & Exhibition also will include a number of special networking events, including spectacular spotlight event of the Honors & Awards Reception and Ceremony, providing attendees the opportunity to interact with colleagues and peers
