XDC Announce the Outfit of Zon Lusomundo’s New Site Tavira Gran Plaza with A Fully Networked D-Cinema Integrated Solution
XDC, the leading Pan-European digital cinema service company, announced that it has installed in the new Zon Lusomundo cinema complex in Tavira, five D-Cinema CineStore Solo G3 servers connected to the Theatre Management System and Central Library, the XDC’s CineStore Plaza.
Zon Lusomundo, the largest cinema exhibitor in Portugal with 32 sites and 213 screens, opened its new complex Tavira Gran Plaza in the south of Portugal. This new modern cinema site, with 765 seats, is fully equipped with 5 D-Cinema projection systems: XDC’s CineStore Solo G3 servers and Barco 2K Digital Cinema projectors. The deal with XDC also includes the installation of the XDC’s CineStore Plaza, the advanced Theatre Management System and Library Management System, with a capacity of 14TB which allows storing an average of 120 long feature films.
Luis Mota, Zon Lusomundo’s Managing Director pointed out: “We are extremely pleased with XDC fully networked D-Cinema integrated solution. This is an important step towards our strategy of innovation and development of the sector. ZON Lusomundo is already the second European exhibitor in Digital cinema and we plan to continue increasing our network. This is the first full digital multiplex in Portugal.”
Serge Plasch, XDC’s Chief Executive Officer said: “We are very proud to have been selected by Zon Lusomundo in order to install our advanced product suite into their new complex. This is the result of a trusted relationship that we have built with them from several months. Moreover, very soon, we will start the full-circuit roll out related to the VPF agreement signed with this dynamic and visionary exhibitor.”
Under the terms of the agreement, all the systems will be connected to the XDC’s NOC (Network Operations Centre) which will perform the hotline support and the preventative remote maintenance. Thanks to the sophisticated XDC’s CineStore Data web-based application, the frontline support (with the possibility to have a full remote monitoring of the digital systems) will be directly managed by the Zon Lusomundo’s technical staff.
Last but not least, VideoVisao, carried out the installations and will perform the on-site maintenance.
