Meyer Sound EXP Emphasizes Patron Experience at CineEurope 2011 in Amsterdam
It has been a year of progress for Meyer Sound’s EXP cinema sound system, which has been transforming the movie experience at CinemaxX theaters and other international venues. Visit the Meyer Sound stand 117 at CineEurope 2011 in Amsterdam to learn why these industry leaders have chosen Meyer Sound EXP as part of their growth strategy to entertain and immerse their patrons like never before possible.
“We have created a special moviegoing experience that now includes the best in sound along with the ultimate picture quality,” say Christian Gisy, CEO of CinemaxX, a large theater chain that has recently kicked off a 60-screen upgrade program to Meyer Sound EXP across Germany and Denmark. “Based on early audience reactions, we expect more screens to follow during the next months.”
The core components of EXP cinema sound featured at the Meyer Sound stand during CineEurope will include the Acheron 100 screen channel loudspeakers, Acheron LF low-frequency loudspeakers, HMS-10 surround loudspeakers, and X-800C cinema subwoofers. All loudspeakers in systems meeting the EXP standard are self-powered, with signal distribution and optimization provided by the Galileo loudspeaker management system.
EXP systems can be heard in two other manufacturers' demo rooms. In the Dolby demo room (E106/E107) movie soundtracks will be reproduced by the recently introducedAcheron Studio screen channel loudspeakers and HMS-10 surround loudspeakers. Barco will promote its new Auro-3D 11.1 cinematic system using an extensiveMeyer Sound EXP system.
In Europe, EXP systems are currently installed for nine screens at the Solaris Center in Tallinn, Estonia, Sala Berlanga in Spain, in addition to a total of 60 CinemaxX screens to be completed in the next two years. Other recent EXP system installations have been completed in the United States (Pacific Theaters and Cinetopia), India(Urvashi Cinema), and Korea (Megabox KINTEX). Meyer Sound systems are also widely deployed by postproduction facilities, with installations in De Lane Lea in London, Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope and Skywalker Sound in California, and more.
