Digimarc and Thomson Sign Digital Watermarking Patent Licensing Agreement
License of Digimarc intellectual property supports Thomson’s efforts to deliver digital cinema, forensic tracking, and other audiovisual watermarking solutions to the media and entertainment market
Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC) today
announced the execution of a patent license agreement with Thomson (Euronext
Paris: 18453; NYSE: TMS) in support of Thomson's efforts to offer digital
watermarking solutions that help improve the management, distribution and
protection of digital media content, including digital cinema.
The non-exclusive agreement licenses Digimarc's digital watermarking patents to
Thomson, a leading service, equipment and technology provider to movie studios,
broadcasters and other content owners and distributors, for use in a wide array
of applications such as digital cinema, forensic tracking of pre-release movies,
and authentication of video content. The agreement supports Thomson's provision
of digital watermarking solutions and services through all of its businesses.
