MikroM is proud to announce its new high integrated, DCI
compliant decoder platform - MVC200-DC - offering both JPEG2000 and MPEG-2
playback capabilities.
Following the DCI specification the MVC200-DC comprises Bit-stream ecryption,
JPEG2000 and MPEG-2 Decompression, Watermarking, Link encryption and the
Security Management - hence, the complete Secure Media Block (SMB) - on a single
PCI-card hardware, giving an optimal solution in terms of security and content
protection.
The card allows switching easily between JPEG and MPEG decoding to support
seamless transition between feature film and ads. 3D is supported as well and up
to four cards could be integrated into a server to address large split-screen
applications. Server manufacturer benefit from the comfortable API,
Windows/Linux support and a roadmap towards PCI-X. “The DCI specification gives
us hardware designer the implementation guideline we need. We are confident that
the MVC200-DC architecture satisfies the requirements for functionality and
security in the sense of the DCI, and also addresses alternative content, 3D and
immersive pictures,” said Holger Krahn, CEO of MikroM.
“We have selected intoPIX because of their know-how in JPEG2000 compression
technology and their smart implementation as a single chip FPGA,” Holger Krahn
stated. “The market will benefit from our corporate expertise.” First
hardware will be shipped end of 2006.
