Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) has reached a significant landmark with its Dolby Atmos® sound technology, confirming there are now over 600 screens installed or committed across the EMEA region.Dolby received a major boost in the number of Dolby Atmos screens from new and existing partners in the region, such as NOS Cinemas, Globusmax and Traumpalast, helping Dolby reach this significant achievement. These partners, among others, are planning for an additional 95 Dolby Atmos screens to open between 2016 and 2017.

A trend has also emerged in the region, whereby new multiplexes open with Dolby Atmos fitted throughout. Earlier this year (March), Israeli-based Globusmax opened a brand new 17-screen Dolby Atmos only multiplex in Haifa. This will be followed by another new 15-screen Dolby Atmos only multiplex that is scheduled to open (July) in Kfar Saba. The Traumpalast partnership also plans to unveil its new Dolby Atmos only multiplex in Germany in July 2016. The new Traumpalast in Leonberg will have 10-screens, all featuring Dolby Atmos immersive sound.
Momentum for Dolby Atmos continues to grow worldwide also, with more than 1,800 Dolby Atmos screens installed or committed to in more than 60 countries, more than 130 mixing facilities worldwide and more than 465 titles announced with support from all major Hollywood studios.
