Severtson Screens (
www.severtsonscreens.com), a global leader in innovative and quality projection screens for the cinema, entertainment, commercial, pro AV, and home theater markets, is proud to announce that, in conjunction with Xebex, Inc., Tokyo Theatres Company, Inc.’s Theatre Shinjuku recently had installed a 14ft. x 30.5ft. (4.3m x 9.3m) Severtson SAT-4K projection screen as part of an overall audio and video revitalization of the famed Tokyo cinema.
“When we were tasked with improving Theatre Shinjuku’s audio and video experience, we knew that Severtson Screens would be able to provide to us the ultimate cinema screen to meet all of the project’s needs,” said Shuhei Takeda, Xebex Inc. Sales Department. “Because of the theatre’s unique installation requirements, we chose the SAT-4K with a black backing in order to absorbs the remainder of the light that passes through the SAT material while also aiding in the screen’s overall contrast, as well as to not alter the film’s audio quality due to the screen’s magnificent acoustic abilities.”
Since 1991, Tokyo-based Xebex, Inc. has met the demands of the most discerning cinema companies by combining automated screening, remote support, and maintenance. As a result, the cutting edge projection and audio solutions provide their customers the “Theatre of the Future” experience.
“Our SAT-4K has received tremendous accolades over the years, and we are proud to build upon its success with the next generation which features an even finer weave and whiter material that makes the viewing image even better than before,” explained Toby Severtson, president and CEO of Severtson Corp. “Made in the USA, the SAT-4K’s acoustic abilities are not hampered by the finer weave, and we can now also seam SAT-4K for larger cinema screens to virtually limitless sizes. It is the ideal screen for Theatre Shinjuku’s revitalization, and we are proud to work with Xebex on this tremendous project.”
Severtson’s folded shipping method makes international distribution of its industry-acclaimed cinema screens highly affordable, reducing international shipping costs by up to 70 percent. “This was an ideal option for the Theatre Shinjuku project,” Severtson continued. “Due to the screen’s size and the nearly 6,000 miles it needed to be shipped including getting it into the theatre itself, our folded method allowed for both a lower overall shipping cost as well as easier and safer transport from factory to destination.”
Besides the 14ft. x 30.5ft. Severtson SAT-4K screen, the 218-seat Theatre Shinjuku now incorporates the famed “odessa” sound system. In an effort to provide an even greater audio experience, the theatre also utilizes custom package designed speakers and a QSC processor/amplifier.
Severtson Corporation has manufactured cinema screens for theaters in countries all over the world, including the United States, Mexico, Canada, Korea, Japan, Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, Spain, Germany, France, New Zealand, Australia, Netherlands, Thailand, Scotland, China, Russia, and many more.
