Nation's Largest Art-House Movie Theater Chain Chooses Klipsch Speakers for New Indianapolis Location
Landmark Theatre brings chic entertainment fare to upscale Fashion Mall at Keystone
While Saks Fifth Avenue, Parisian, Pottery Barn, Coach and Mac Cosmetics lure Indianapolis, Ind. shoppers to the Fashion Mall, Landmark Theatres, with the help of locally-based Klipsch speakers, is giving patrons another reason to visit this posh retail center.
On Friday, December 9, Landmark will open its 60th theater location inside the mall's upper Parisian wing. The new Keystone Art Cinema & Indie Lounge features seven state-of-the-art auditoriums that dynamically present the best independent cinema, foreign language films and classic and documentary features.
Tailored to mature audiences, this 1,400-seat cineplex offers gourmet concessions, stadium-style seating and Dolby Digital sound. The full-service Indie Lounge features live music, plasma televisions and allows moviegoers to take their drinks into the auditoriums.
According to Bobby Parry, chief engineer for Landmark Theatres, the complex utilizes advanced digital projection equipment and best-in-class professional Klipsch speakers to give audiences the best in cinema presentation. In fact, it is the most technology-advanced Landmark Theatre location to date.
"Digital projection is easily the most astonishing technology innovation to hit the film industry," he said. "Better than traditional film, digital projection doesn't get scratched or dusty and you get the same presentation quality from the first to the last showing."
While over 100 Klipsch cinema speakers fill the auditoriums with detailed and immersive audio, the lobby and bar areas also benefit from high-performance Klipsch in-ceiling and surface mount products.
Because the auditoriums have limited space behind their screens, Landmark engineers used Klipsch's new line of powerful, shallow-depth speakers to accommodate them - the KPT-435-N, KPT-335-N and KPT-418. While the KPT-435-N and KPT 335-N three-way systems are the best space-saving performers in their class, the high-output, bass-reflex KPT-418 subwoofer delivers great bottom-end performance along with high power handling.
"While I have used Klipsch on retrofit projects, this is the first brand-new Landmark complex to utilize all Klipsch products throughout," Parry said. "As far as I am concerned, Klipsch builds the best speakers for the cinema market. They have good solid construction and deliver no holds barred sound."
This Landmark location also features other technological advancements that are typically not found elsewhere, including video walls of plasma monitors that publicize current and upcoming films.
