Access Integrated Technologies Launches Dedicated Digital Cinema Satellite Delivery System
Pioneering Los Angeles-Based Delivery Service Supported By Recently Acquired Boeing Digital Cinema Satellite Transmission Systems
Access Integrated Technologies, Inc. ("AccessIT") (Amex: AIX - News) today
announced its digital cinema satellite delivery service, operated out of an
Internet Datacenter ("IDC") located in Los Angeles, is expected to be fully
operational by June 4, 2004.
The Los Angeles datacenter will serve as the hub of AccessIT's digital cinema
delivery service, housing the servers and satellite transmission equipment
acquired from Boeing Digital Cinema. The datacenter infrastructure and systems,
modeled after AccessIT's state-of-the-art fail-safe IDC in Jersey City, will
offer fully redundant connectivity via satellite and terrestrial fiber links and
feature real-time 24x7x365 monitoring, security and staffing. Delivery of
digital movies and other content to AccessIT's network of 29 installed digital
cinema systems and other digitally equipped theatres will coincide with the
traditionally busy summer box office season.
"By combining a dedicated datacenter with the Boeing Digital Cinema assets,
AccessIT is able to provide the only tried and proven electronic delivery
service designed to meet the unique requirements of the motion picture industry
as it enters the digital era," commented Bud Mayo, CEO of AccessIT. "Having a
local datacenter that serves as a digital cinema distribution hub close to our
movie studio customers will enable us to ensure those customers have fast,
direct access to the highest quality service and support available. And with
AccessIT's Jersey City facility providing additional back-up services, our
customers can be assured that their data will be secure and accessible," Mayo
added.
