Nordisk Film Cinemas Implementing EVS Servers and Barco DLP-Cinema Projectors in 3 Screens in Denmark.
ordisk Film Cinemas will be the first in Denmark to screen a feature film in
digital with the opening of Twentieth Century Fox’s “I, Robot” on August 20th
in the Imperial in Copenhagen. By equipping two screens in Copenhagen and one
screen in Aarhus, the second largest town in Denmark, Nordisk is taking
the first step into the future where digital screening are prevailing.
These first steps towards the digital era are a part of Nordisk's ongoing
efforts to provide the optimal cinema experience to the Danish audience.
In Copenhagen the 1102 seat single screener Imperial is equipped with a Barco
DP-100 2K DLP-Cinema projector.
The 17-plex The Palads is equipped with a Barco DP-30 DLP Cinema projector in
the second largest auditorium
In Aarhus the 9-plex BioCity auditorium 1 will be equipped with a Barco DP-100
projector.
All three screens will be powered by EVS Cinestar Sole servers.
Both Barco and EVS have shown great skills and flexibility in accommodating
Nordisk Film Cinemas in our demands, including delivering and installing
according to a very tight schedule.
September 3rd all three cinemas will be showing Dreamworks “Shrek 2” in both a
Danish dubbed version and an original version with Danish subtitles, followed
by Buena Vistas “The Village” later the same month.
Both Fox and UIP (Dreamworks and Buena Vista) have been very forthcoming and
supportive in efforts to get digital copies for Nordisk's new digital screens.
