Vista Entertainment Solutions (VES), a company of Vista Group International (NZX: VGL; ASX: VGI), has signed an agreement with Nordisk Film Cinemas, the largest cinema chain in Norway with 71 screens in 20 theaters. The supply agreement is the very first for VES in Scandinavia, adding to a formidable list of VES installations worldwide. The announcement was made by Mischa Kay, Managing Director, VES EMEA, and Jannicke Haugen, Managing Director of Nordisk Film Cinemas, as the first Nordisk cinema ‘went live’ with VES software this week.
VES is the core business of Vista Group and the leading global supplier of software to the cinema industry’s Large Circuit Market (cinema exhibitors operating more than 20 screens) with software installed at more than 4,000 sites in over 60 countries, and selling an estimated 1 billion tickets every year. VES is the global leader in its field: it has 37% market share in North America; 8% in China (a territory entered relatively recently); 95% in Mexico and 53% in the United Kingdom.
“VES undoubtedly has the leading cinema software system in the world,” states Ms. Haugen. “With a 40% market share worldwide, VES has the expertise, best practices and technical advancements to improve our functionality and tailor offers to individual guests. We’re confident VES will enhance the theatrical experience for our customers as well as create a more fluid system for our staff leading to increased economic benefit for our company.”
“Nordisk Film Cinemas is the gold standard among cinema chains in the region,” says Mr Kay. “The roll-out of the first Nordisk cinema earlier this month was more than exciting for us and we are honored that Nordisk has chosen to partner with VES for their cinema management software needs. We look forward to a very enjoyable and profitable future together.”
