Avica Technology Announces FilmStore™ Compatibility with CineLink™ Security System from Texas Instruments
Avica Technology Corporation announced that its FilmStoreTM
line of Digital Cinema Servers are DLP CinemaTM
ready and are compatible with the innovative, new Texas Instruments CineLinkTM
Security Management System. Texas Instruments' CineLinkTM
provides enhanced functionality and security as well as the support of
encryption at the local link between server and projector. The Avica FilmStore
models are the first Digital CinemaTM servers
to achieve CineLinkTM compatibility.

CineLinkTM Security Management provides
enhanced interface functionality and security. Key features include support of
encryption at the local link between server and projector for greater security.
CineLinkTM also provides support of
watermarking and fingerprinting, making it easier to track pirate copies, and
the ability to remotely diagnose and maintain projectors. Also new are
facilities which allow for the projection of a broader range of source materials
as well as future higher bandwidth signals: support is provided for Dual SMPTE
292 with 291 Metadata, DVI for non-cinema modes, 100Base T network and dual
RS232.
