HARMAN
Professional Solutions, the global leader in audio, video, lighting and control
systems, including networked AV, today announced that JBL Professional and
Dolby Laboratories will host a series of workshops at AES, showcasing
cutting-edge technologies for creating immersive audio in Dolby Atmos. Titled “Immersive
Audio for the Modern Control Room,” the workshops will feature a complete
production, mastering, and monitoring system for Dolby Atmos, including the new
JBL 7 Series Powered studio monitoring system and JBL Intonato
24 monitor management and tuning system.
“With
an expanding base of film, broadcast and now music content released in Dolby
Atmos format, professionals will want to
know how they can add Atmos capabilities to their studios without breaking the
budget,” said Peter Chaikin, Director, Recording Solutions at HARMAN
International. “HARMAN is excited to partner with Dolby at AES to demonstrate
how the latest JBL technologies make it easy and surprisingly affordable to
deliver in the Atmos format. With Dolby Atmos and the new JBL 7 Series Powered
master reference monitors, music creators and post-production professionals can
go beyond stereo and surround sound to unlock completely new dimensions of
depth and texture that audiences will love.”
The
new 705P 5-inch and 708P 8-inch powered master reference monitors incorporate
dual 250-watt power amplifiers to deliver the same impressive output as the 7
Series Installed line. Designed from the ground up to meet the demanding
requirements of complex music and post-production applications, the new JBL
705P and 708P powered studio monitors deliver superb imaging and neutral
response in any room. The 7 Series features newly developed JBL high-
and low-frequency transducers that deliver two-to-three times the output and
dynamic range of conventional studio monitors for critical music and film
production applications. Proprietary JBL waveguide technology provides neutral
response and exceptional room-to-room consistency, while built-in room EQ
solves common low-frequency issues that have plagued engineers for years.
When
combined with the JBL Intonato 24 monitor management and tuning system, 7
Series monitors offer an exceptional monitoring platform for audio mix control
of all sizes. Intonato 24 tunes the system to deliver a calibrated
mixing environment where the speakers work in harmony with the room, ensuring
greater accuracy at the mix position.
Live demonstrations will be
held at New York’s Javits Center, in AES Demo Room 1E05, every hour on the
hour.
